How to ensure you have a fully booked diary

By far the most common result my clients present to me as the thing they want to achieve most is a “Fully Booked Diary”.

Most people who are looking for this result think it will be the solution of the biggest problem at all => not enough money coming in for the work they are putting in.
And yes when we think about it in financial terms only, it will create this solution for you.

It really is the dream isn’t it..
– Money flowing in.
– A waiting list when someone wants to book you.
– Opening your diary and knowing that it is planned months in advance.
– You being able to tell your clients when you are available rather than fitting them in when it suits them, and not necessarily you!

So lets look at why you might not have a fully booked diary right now.

Do you know who you work with?

So you know what you do, you know what you can help people with, but do you know who you are best suited to work with? If I asked you to pick one person and this person would be your perfect client, who would that person be? Then dive into that a little further. What is it about this person that you feel would make them your perfect client and you know working with them would get them the best possible results for them. What is it about you that qualifies you to work specifically with them? I’m not asking for your qualifications here, its more to do with experience or understanding their fears, wants and needs. Once you get very clear on this person – you can talk to them through your marketing and your service offerings. They will hear you because you will begin to speak their language!

Do they know what you do?

This is something that a lot of business owners take for granted. They assume that everyone knows what they do, but people knowing what you do and them “knowing what you can do for them” are completely different things. You see, No one really cares about you, they only care about what you can do for them. Lets say for example you offer holistic treatments and you tell people you are a holistic practitioner in the area of “X” . The problem is that if you stop there, the person speaking to you probably has some pre-conceived notion as to what that is and if that does not match with the solutions they are looking for, they will dismiss it as something that might be able to help them.
So how do you make sure people know what you do?
Well you tell them through free resources like public speaking, blogging, videos, twitter, facebook posts, instagram, articles .. take your pick! There are so many different ways to ensure people know what you can do for them. Even changing the names of your service offerings can make the result you offer very clear. The key here is to be “Consistent and Persistent”. You must stick to a schedule and even when you do create that fully booked diary for yourself – you must continue to do this for the next round of clients coming your way.

Do you sell a solution to your clients problems?

This is very important. If you are selling a service instead of a solution, you’ll have a mountain to climb every single time you need to convince someone that you are the right person to help them. This by far is the easiest way to ensure you get noticed by the people who need your help the most. Start thinking of the problems your clients present to you, or the problems you believe you can help people solve. Now compare this to your current service offerings. Is what you currently offer going to create these results for your clients. How will they know that this is the solution available by just looking at your service list? What will entice them in to want to get to know you further? And most importantly.. what can you remove from your list? Most service list offerings are too long and overwhelm and confuse your clients. Pick maximum 3 and figure out a plan to fill your diary using only these. This will help you stay on message and use the language your ideal clients will hear!

All I ask of you at this point is please do not just read this and do nothing with the information here. At the end of the day you are the only person who can do what you do for your clients. They are out there waiting for you to help them with their problems so please make sure that you do everything possible to get to them and help them. And its your job to make sure they find YOU!
